Various low intensity classes are available as part of your membership or on a pay as you go basis. Low intensity and low impact does not mean that you do not burn calories or that they are easy classes.  Our low intensity classes are suitable for all.Some of the low intensity classes available at the Y Club are:

Pilates: Pilates is an exercise system that focuses on stretching and strengthening the whole body to improve balance, muscle strength and tone, core strength, flexibility and posture. It can also help relieve stress and tension. Pilates is suitable for people of all ages and abilities.

Yoga: We offer various styles of yoga here at the Y Club including Iyenger, Vinyasa, Yogalates and Power Yoga as well as a beginner’s Yoga class. Yoga focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. Regular yoga practice can be beneficial for people with high blood pressure, heart disease, aches and pains – including lower back pain, depression and stress. Our yoga classes are suitable for people of all ages and abilities – it is never too late to start!

Young @ Heart: Young @ Heart is a low intensity aerobic and toning class. Despite the name this class is suitable for all ages, especially if you are looking for a slightly lower intensity cardio workout. This class still gets the heart pumping as well as giving you the benefit of toning and shaping improving muscle tone and flexibility.

Aqua Aerobics:  Aqua aerobics offers multiple benefits for any fitness level. Aqua aerobics classes offer great protection for your joints and muscles; however this does not mean it is an easier workout. As this class is performed in water it makes for a low impact exercise that focuses on a range of motion, strength building and resistance work. Aqua aerobics classes are also a fun way to workout.
